The GF Walk for Water is a global fundraising event to raise awareness and support for communities that lack access to safe water. Event participants walk ~2km — symbolizing the daily journey millions take to collect water — to help fund projects focused on providing sustainable water solutions through our partner, Water Mission.
In many parts of the world, women and children walk over 5 kilometers each day to collect water, often from unsafe sources. This walk is an act of solidarity and a way to raise awareness of this global crisis. We will be walking from Silver Garden @ Gardens by the Bay along the water to Gardens by the Bay MRT station turn-off and back to our starting point.
Please note that 100% of your donations and sponsorships will benefit Water Mission, a non-profit organization that designs and implements sustainable safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects in developing countries and disaster areas. GF Singapore will cover all costs for the event, with a small contribution from individual event registration fees.
No, unfortunately donations are not tax deductible. All funds are directed funds are directed to international projects via Water Mission, a US based NGO. In Singapore, tax deductions for charitable donations are only granted when the funds are used to benefit causes within Singapore. Donations used for overseas projects, while meaningful, do not qualify as they fall outside the jurisdiction of Singapore’s charitable tax framework. Due to the nature of this initiative - providing access to safe water - funds cannot remain in Singapore but will benefit Southeast Asian communities in need of safe water. Therefore, donations are not eligible for tax deductions in Singapore, in accordance with local tax guidelines.

While we walk in solidarity with those in need, we do not want to waste precious water. Therefore, we will walk buckets but without open water

Wear comfortable walking shoes and attire suitable for the weather. Don’t forget water, sunscreen, and any personal items you may need. Event t-shirts will be provided to sponsors prior to the event. For all participants, who have registered individually, the event T-Shirt will be provided on-site on 8 November 2025 from 8:00am at Silver Garden or can be picked up at the GF Singapore office (152 Ubi Avenue 4, 408826 Singapore) from 1 November 2025, during office hours (Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm).
Within your company and family, absolutely! We encourage you to share this event with colleagues and family, who may also want to make a difference. Please note that this is not a public event.
For individual registrations, the T-Shirts can be picked up from our GF Singapore office from 1 November 2025 or alternatively, you can collect it upon on-site registration on the event day itself. For event sponsors, all participant T-Shirts will be delivered to their office at least 3 days before the event. Buckets will be distributed on-site upon registration on event day.
While the Walk is an opportunity to help raise support for Water Mission’s efforts to put an end to the global water crisis, fundraising is not a requirement to participate. We charge a small registration fee, which varies depending on the age. The registration fee includes the event T-Shirt, a bucket as well as refreshments.
Adults (Ages 18 and up): SG$10 Youth (Ages 6-17): SG$5 Children (Ages 5 and under): Free
Yes. You may add a child registration by selecting this option with your adult registration. All registered participants will receive a GF Walk for Water T-Shirt.

Every contribution is considered a donation. We are unable to provide refunds.
You can register the morning of the event at the registration counter. However, there might be limited spots available due to limited resources (participant T-Shirts, Buckets, F&B) so registrations on event day cannot be guaranteed. Registrations before the deadline are highly encouraged to help us plan accordingly and provide you with the right equipment.
We will have plenty of fun and games for all ages before and after the walk. Light refreshments/ snacks will be available after the walk as well. During the walk, you’ll carry a bucket for approximately 2 km along the water from Silver Garden to Gardens by the Bay MRT turn-off. We encourage everyone to wear their GF Walk for Water T-Shirt, sunscreen, and a pair of comfortable shoes.
Please register your participation until Tuesday 30 September 2025. After this date, registration will be closed in order to have sufficient time to arrange the event logistics.
