Water Mission is a nonprofit organization that strives to end the global water crisis by bringing fresh water to those in less fortunate circumstances. The Walk for Water brings awareness to the global water crisis. At the event, participants will walk a three-mile route symbolizing the daily route millions around the world make to collect water that is often unsafe.
Beaufort County is hosting two Walks: on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Live Oaks Park in Port Royal and Saturday, Sept. 20 at Wright Family Park in Bluffton. Late registration will begin at 8 a.m. at each site, followed by the Walk at 9 a.m.
Map coming soon.
You can register online now. Click here to return to registration page.
You also can register at the event, but your preferred T-shirt size may not be available. Register by Aug. 13 to be sure you get the size you want.
The Walk is an opportunity to help raise support for Water Mission’s ongoing efforts to fight the global water crisis, but fundraising isn’t a requirement to participate. If you choose to help in this way, we thank you! To help you share Water Mission’s story and raise funds, resources are available here.

You’re encouraged to wear your Walk for Water T-shirt as we join together to fight the global water crisis. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. During the Walk, you’re encouraged to carry an empty bucket for approximately 1.5 miles. At about the halfway point, there will be a place to partially fill your bucket and complete the rest of the walk. Along the route, you’ll learn about the global water crisis and the people Water Mission serves.
You can still join in. Just go to the registration table and a volunteer will help you get started.
You can bring a small bucket if you choose to carry one. You’ll get a Water Mission sticker for your bucket when you get your T-shirt. We’ll also have a limited supply of buckets on site for those who don’t bring one.
Well-behaved, crowd-friendly dogs on leashes are welcome.
