Walk for Water-Beaufort

September 16, 2023

General Walk FAQs

The Walk for Water-Beaufort County will take place on:
- September 16, 2023 at Live Oaks Park in Port Royal.
- September 23, 2023 at Wright Family Park in Bluffton.
Late registration will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the Walk at 9:00 a.m.
If you joined a team, your team captain will pick up T-shirts for everyone in your group before the walk and get them to you. If you registered as an individual, we’ll let you know where you can pick up your T-shirt before the event. Some participant materials are available on the resource page
We’ve created easy-to-use materials just for you. These include social media images and resources. During and after the Walk, we encourage you to post photos of the Walk to your social media accounts.

When you post, tag Water Mission and Beaufort County Walk for Water using @water_mission, @BeaufortWalkforWater and #bftwalkforwater. And please invite your friends, family and colleagues to join you in participating!
The Walk is an opportunity to help raise support for Water Mission’s ongoing efforts to fight the global water crisis, but fundraising isn’t a requirement to participate. If you choose to help in this way, we thank you! To help you share Water Mission’s story and raise funds, resources are available here.
Adults (Ages 18 and up): $25 (Use the discount code EARLYBIRD23 for $5 off when registering before the day of the Walk).
Students: $25 (Use the discount code STUDENT23 for $10 off when registering before the day of the Walk)

Every contribution is considered a donation. We are unable to provide refunds.
When you arrive at Live Oaks Park (September 16) or Wright Family Park (September 23), follow the signs and sounds of excitement and join us for the opening ceremony. Look for our volunteers and signs to direct you where to park. Following the opening ceremony, you’ll be directed to grab a bucket and start walking.
You may register on the morning of the event at the registration table at Live Oaks Park or Wright Family Park. You can pay by credit card (preferred), cash or check.
You’re encouraged to wear your Walk for Water T-shirt as we join together to fight the global water crisis. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

During the Walk, you’re encouraged to carry an empty bucket for approximately 1.5 miles. At about the halfway point, there will be a place to partially fill your bucket and complete the rest of the walk.

Along the route, you’ll see signs with more information about Water Mission and the global water crisis.
You can still join in. Just go to the registration table and a volunteer will help you get started.
You can bring a small bucket if you choose to carry one. You’ll get a Water Mission sticker for your bucket when you get your T-shirt. We’ll also have a limited supply of buckets on site for those who don’t bring one.
Come prepared for the weather that day. You might consider bringing water to drink, a hat, sunscreen and bug spray, or possibly a rain jacket.
Well-behaved, crowd-friendly dogs on leashes are welcome.
We'd love to hear from you! Please contact Robert Lasher.
